Clay County Electric Cooperative  Annual Meeting Recap

The 85th Clay County Electric Cooperative Annual Membership Meeting was held on June 27 at 11 a.m. in Corning. Official notice, annual report, survey and ballot were mailed on May 24 to all members. Over the past several years, the process of using mail-in ballots continues to increase member participation, and this year proved to be no different with 1,031 members participating in the Annual Meeting.

Members returning their surveys were eligible for prize drawings. This year, the prizes awarded were 11 $100 energy certificates and 31 $50 energy certificates. The winners of the prize drawings were as follows:

$100 Energy Certificates Winners:

Danny Francis, C. McAlee, Robert L. Williford, Dennis Manning, Amanda L. Miller, Bruce Busby, Mayme Shoemaker, Brown’s Delta BBQ, Diane Groves, Brittany D. Milligan and Glenn H. Patrick.

$50 Energy Certificates Winners:

Hunter D. Smith, Kenneth Klemmer, Roger McKenney, Bill Moody, Shelli M. Kallie, Imogene Carter, Ronald Dulgar, William Judkins, Billy R. Francis, Graves Gin Corp., David N. Braden, Alma A. Massey, Bernard Haywood, Randy G. McComb, John Selig, Theda G. Crays, Theresa A. Pendergrass, David E. Simpson, Trent Ingram, Tony Roark, William D. Putman, Lisa K. Webb, Dorothy L. Whitten, New Hope Assembly of God, Dustin D. Burns, Andrew B. Rogers, Shelly D. Robbins, G. T. Baxley, H. C. Hearring, Roy L. Potter and Cleitus Boyd.
Two directors were up for re-election in 2024 and ran unopposed. The following directors will serve another term:
