Irrigation

Clay County Electric Cooperative Corporation Irrigation Information

CCECC has two (2) rate classes designed for irrigation wells:  Regular Rate and Load Control

Regular Rate:  Members that sign up on this rate are NOT participating in our load management program and are not subject to cooperative controlled power interruptions.

Load Control:  Members that sign up on this rate agree to participate in our load management program and are subject to have their wells turned off or controlled during the months of June, July, August, and September.

Members that participate in our Load Control Program have a controlled switch installed at their irrigation points that interrupts power to the well. These switches have a random start up delay of up to 15 minutes. The delay is activated or restarted with every loss of power.

If the red light is on in the small display window, that signifies either the delay is active or the cooperative is controlling the switch. If there are no red lights on or there is a green led flashing, the well should be able to be turned on. The switches should have a label to help remind everyone about the delay.
