Outage Reporting via Text
You can now report power outages via text messaging. It’s another innovation we are proud to introduce to add convenience to your experience!
Before using this easy new service, you will need to complete a short registration process and agree to the Terms of Service.
Phone Number Verification
Ensure your current cell phone number is on file at Clay County Electric Cooperative Corporation.
Updating Contact Information
If your cell phone number has changed, or if you have not previously provided it, please call us at (800) 521-2450.
Verification & Confirmation
Initial Verification
After registering, you will receive a text with an account verification code. Enter this code in the applicable web page field and click Submit.
Confirmation Text
You will receive a second text message confirming the completion of the process. If your number is not on file, you will be notified to contact us to update your information.
Setup & Reporting
Account Information Screen
After sign-up, you will see a screen listing the account number(s) associated with your cell phone. This screen also shows the number to which outages should be texted.
Add to Contacts
Ensure this number is saved in your cell phone contacts for easy access.
Multiple Accounts
For those with multiple accounts, set up key word indicators for each account (e.g., home, well, cabin, garage, barn) to facilitate specific outage reporting.
Final Step
Complete these steps, click Submit, and you are ready to text your next power outage to us.
