Clay County Electric holds Annual Membership Meeting

The 87th Clay County Electric Cooperative Annual Membership Meeting took place on June 25, starting at 11 a.m. at the Corning headquarters. Official notice, the annual report, survey and ballot were mailed on May 26 to all members. In recent years, using mail-in ballots and surveys has greatly increased member participation. This year was no different, with 1,234 members participating in the Annual Meeting survey. Members returning their surveys were eligible for prize drawings. This year, the prizes awarded were 11 $100 energy certificates and 31 $50 energy certificates.

This year, four candidates sought election to the Board of Directors. In Area II, Zone I, Kenny Francis and Jim Clifton ran for the seat being vacated by retiring director Jerry Turner. In Area I, Zone III, Jody Thielemier and James Johnson sought to fill the seat of retiring director Charlie Raglin. Following the election, Kenny Francis and James Johnson were elected to serve on the board.
